Chapter Six Beginner Ball Serving

" Beginner Ball Serving"

...1. 70's Southwest Spin: Place the ball inside the serving hole on the side of the table. Position it off center to the inside wall of the playing surface. Place your left hand on the 5 rod, push the rod half way towards the far wall, with the men in a 45 degree tilted back position. Do this to get ready to catch or control the serve. Then place your thumb on the lower left portion (Southwest Area) of the ball and brush spin the ball down using your thumb. (Spin it Down) By the doing this the ball will spin backwards in a counter clockwise motion. As the Ball is spinning backwards inside the serving hole, it makes contact with the top right hand portion (northwest corner of the serving hole , and is then kicked out onto the playing surface with a back spin. After it hits the playing surface the backspin causes the ball travel back towards the man on your 5 bar.
