Chapter Four Beginner Goalie Pull Shot Series

"""""""Beginner Goalie Tip and Pull Shot Series"

…A.1 Set the ball up 1/2 way between the *far wall* and the first stripe.

…A.2. Use your shooting man to bounce the ball off the far wall
, back wall, and back rod's man, in order to set your shot up. Set the ball directly between the wall and the Goal's first white line. Then position the ball directly underneath the bar, then tilt the man back a little position the ball back as well, placing the ball snug up against your shooting man. Do not leave a space between the ball and the side of your man's foot. If you do this will increase your odds in mis-executing the shot as it increases the risk in slipping out of place off your man's foot when you start the lateral pulling motion...Do not get impatient learning to set the ball up. Take your time it will get easier and soon you will start getting it set up quickly.

…A.3. Start your shot from this same position every single time during first year..

…A.4. Primary Job responsibility...
Is to never ever turn over (fumble the ball) the ball to the opponent's forward, while in your position

…A.5. Second priority Job responsibility: is to clear the ball past the Opponent's Three Bar

…A.6. Third priority job responsibility: is to clear the ball past the opponent's 5 Bar.

…A.7 It is not your responsibility to be a hero or impress your forward by Scoring or showing fancy footwork. In fact it is not even necessary to score in order to do your job. Never ever get upset if you never score. Never ever self destruct which causes your muscles to tense up and causes you to looses smoothness and effectiveness.

…B.1. Defensive Priority Responsibility is to execute a moving defense , utililizing different patterns, dot blocking 2 of the three main holes at all times. Three holes are 1.5 dot, Middle Dot, and 6.5 Dot. Do not stack your defensive men as it restricts your ability to cover a larger percentage of the hole. Also leave a ball or so distance between your defending men, occasionally opening and shutting that hole as well or making it look as if that hole is shut when it's actually open , or open when it's actually shut.

…B.2. Do not overreact and bail your men out when banks and mis-executed shots come wildly at you, stay calm and cool smoothly moving the required men in a "tight two man defensive crap saving zone" or a single man to get a piece of the mis-executed shot in order to attempt to keep it out of your goal.

…C.1. Never ever get upset when someone scores on you.. remember they have the ball and the advantage in knowing when they will start the shot and where they will shoot it. Just do your best to reduce the number of shooting holes and to not leave any holes open too long. Never ever get upset if you never score. Never ever self destruct which causes your muscles to tense up and causes you to looses smoothness and effectiveness, which later causes move fumbles and shot mis-executions.
